FINNISH FOUNDATION FOR THE VISUAL ARTS

The Finnish Foundation for the Visual Arts is the cultural institute for Finland in the United States. It is a not for profit organization which promotes Finnish art, architecture and design in North America.

The Foundation runs an artist-in-residency program in New York City for Finnish applicants; produces and curates exhibitions of contemporary art and architecture; and organizes related projects in collaboration with museums, universities and galleries all across the United States and Canada. In all its activities, the Foundation aims to create relations of collaboration between artists and other professionals from Finland and North America.

The Finnish Foundation for the Visual Arts is supported by an annual endowment from the Ministry of Education in Finland and grants from various private and commercial sponsors. In addition to having an office in New York, the Foundation also maintains an office in Helsinki, Finland.
